VERIFICATION

BEd from IGNOU or Indira Gandhi National Open University. IGNOU has extended the last date for online application submission date for BEd programme. According to a report in The Indian Express, candidates will now have time till November 18, 2018, to apply online for Bachelor of Education (BEd) admission for the academic session 2019-21. Earlier, the varsity had declared that the last date was November 15, 2018, i.e. yesterday. Bachelor of Education (BEd) admission for the academic session 2019-21.

The BEd programme that is provided by IGNOU utilises self-instructional materials and information technology along with interactive personal contact programmes. It is recognised by the NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education). The duration of the BEd programme is two years and the medium of instruction in both English and Hindi. The admission to this programme is on the basis of an entrance test to be conducted in December 2018.

The aspirants should have scored at least 50 per cent marks either in the Bachelor’s Degree and /or in the Master’s Degree in Sciences/Social Sciences/Commerce/Humanity. Bachelors in engineering or technology with specialisation in science and mathematics with 55 per cent marks or any other qualifications equivalent thereto. The reservation and unwinding of 5 percent stamps in the least qualification will be given to SC/ST/OBC (Non-velvety layer)/PWD applicants according to the tenets of the Central Government.

The IGNOU is also known as the ‘People’s University’ as it is a platform where students can pursue the course of their choice from the distance learning medium. The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) was established by an Act of Parliament in 1985, and it has continuously striven to build an inclusive knowledge society through inclusive education.
